Wellness is sleeping well

Lots of people complain about having few energies during the day and waking up already tired. Surely they sleep little and bad.
It is scientifically proved sleep needs some precise rules referring to the environment, personal needs, well made support as mattress, pillow, springs, and so on.
Few know there’s a strong connection between good mood and night-wellness. Sleeping quality and quantity affect about 56% of our wellness sensation during the day. For this reason bad sleeping quality and blues pathology are strongly connected.
Wake up in the morning or after a little rest have to correspond in a short holiday for our mental profile and in a massages session for our physical profile.

A good bed is important

A large amount of the population suffer of backache. Human vertical position can stress the vertebral column too much. The back is connected to the nervous system in the marrow that runs along the spine. The nerves close to the vertebrae are protected from the pressure with the help of Intervertebral discs, which  undergo a compression when we walk. In order to relieve the pressure, it’s important to support the intervertebral discs so they can stretch out again completely.
A good rest is crucial not only for the body. Our mind needs to balance from the multiple forces we put before during daily activities; so sleeping diseases caused by inadequate body support can be perceived in the brain. This continuous mental strain to change our  bearing led in a fragmented and scarcely qualitative sleep.
The quality of our life lean on wellness we guarantee for our body and mind.

Sleep cycles

Sleep is a periodical and psychological necessary restorative phase. Sleep  pattern is slightly different in young people in comparison to older people.
A young person takes less time to fall asleep and he will awake once in the middle of the night, once in the early morning and once again before getting up. Older people take longer to fall asleep and wake up several times for longer periods before morning. Age increases the periods of wakefulness during sleep.
Adults sleep is divided into four phases and also four cycles. Light sleep, deep sleep, very deep sleep, R.E.M. phase (the majority of remembered dreams take place in this phase).
During the first three phases our consciousness falls asleep and the muscles progressively relax. During the last phase, instead, lack of muscles strength forces the spine to great stress. It is precisely during this phase that an adequate sleeping support is very important (Choosing an adequate sleeping support becomes important).

Choosing a mattress

Time ago mattresses were padded with wool or vegetal fibre and laid down upon wooden table; unfortunately a depression was formed in the centre of the mattress during the night causing the body to assume an unnatural position called “banana” position. For this reason orthopaedic mattresses have been created but also these could cause damages for the body especially for body point pressure, shoulder and bottom, which underwent a blood-stagnancy and forced neck and waistline to dip to find a support.
Human body, instead, is made of lines and shapes which have to be bore in accordance with their weight. Furthermore, everyone has peculiar physical features: weight, height, conformation and so on, which require an accurate choice in comparison to the mattress we want to rest upon.

A Good Bed System

All Materassia mattresses are the result of a meticulous attention to the different product working phases. An healthy and good sleep is assured by choosing only selected raw materials and made with the most modern technologies thanks to the accurate bacteriological and long lasting tests.
A good bed system consist of three separate components: a modern bed base, a suitable mattress and a pillow. The base, the mattress and the pillow must enable the body to maintain its physiological curvature. The base must be sufficiently stiff and flexible at the same time. The mattress must blend to the bed base and also respond to the needs his user. The pillow must have a certain consistency and respect the anthropometrical characteristics the person using it, especially shoulder width (for those who sleep on the side) and shape and size of the head and neck (for those who sleep in a supine position). A too high or low pillow can cause a vertebral pill or charley horse, stressful for people suffering from cervical disease.
